And there is general agreement that the dearth of affordable housing is turning away the young people who want to live here. This week on the Compass we look at the County’s housing crisis.

Our Town host Maryanne McNellis interviews Dick Schneider, the owner of Rain Coast Farms, about his innovative program to bring orchids back to life. Schneider runs a unique “Orchid Recovery Program” where people bring in their wounded or dying orchids. After a year or more of intensive care he brings them (or most of them) back to life. He then donates the flowers to hospitals, hospice or even individuals who are recovering from serious illness.
