Steve Grimes

(Airdate: August 17, 2023) KPTZ DJ Taylor Clark had a chance to talk to Steve Grimes during Blues Journey on Thursday, August 17. They talked about his upcoming performance at the Palindrome and a bit about the recent devastating fire in Lahaina on Maui. Steve lives on Maui now and is a former Port Townsend resident. He is skilled luthier as well as a singer and songwriter. Note: He performed Friday, August 18 at the Palindrome at 7:30pm.

Brewocracy Now ~ 8/17/23

Guests on today’s Brewnow included Shelly Leavens, Communications & Marketing Manager for the City of Port Townsend and Steve King, Director of Public Works. We talked about needed maintenance for the sewer system. There was a report at City Council last Monday that outlined what is required and funding for that work. We also learned a bit about the city’s mulching project out at the county transfer station.

Robbie Rocket Robinson Surgery

KPTZ presents a special edition of Rocket Surgery on Wednesday, August 16, an extended tribute to the recently departed Robbie Robertson. DJ Charlie Bermant will play tunes play tunes ranging from early Bob Dylan collaborations (through) his ephemeral solo work. This, along with a healthy dose of live Band cuts, injects these timeless songs with ragged energy. The show will end with the best-ever version of “The Weight.” KPTZ listeners have heard a lot of Robertson songs over the past week, this program won’t overlap. Mostly. Tune in here from 8-10pm Wednesday.
