KPTZ’s genius engineering trio ~ Mike Carroll, John Miller, and Bill Putney ~ came up with an extraordinary innovative plan to get us back onto the 91.9 FM airwaves!
On the other side of Friday’s big storm and its unfortunate side effect: if you tuned in since Monday night 11/07, you are aware already that KPTZ’s broadcast signal has been on / off / on / off again. That happened because the leased transmission line that relays our programming to the transmitter failed, and because the repair service is out of our control, along with crews being maxed out, it was taking too much time to restore our broadcast signal. We already knew well that Bill, John and Mike bring a supreme collective wealth of experience, yet this fix represents a truly herculean effort.
Thankfully KPTZ’s live stream and program archive are available online, as always. But for now, we’re so happy to be back on the waves, where we belong.
