An all-volunteer community radio station as varied as KPTZ can happen only because you, as listeners and donors, comprise our community. KPTZ relies on your financial generosity to stay on the air. As we continue to celebrate the station’s 10th anniversary, you are invited to help KPTZ blossom and grow by clicking the Donate Now button above. Every dollar goes right back into KPTZ’s ongoing efforts to serve as a sonic reflection of the community we represent ~ and, of course, to feed your spirit with the music you want, need and deserve.
Many of us tuned in to 91.9FM Monday morning for Dr. Locke’s briefings at today’s Board of County Commissioners meeting, to hear the sage advice of our public health officer as we emerge from the last year of the pandemic. Some have called these broadcasts our local fireside chats, that have bonded us all together as we listened through the phased lockdown.
KPTZ itself is a community made up of over 100 dedicated volunteers ~ 64 of whom are DJs and on-air hosts. A core group, who began broadcasting at the very start, are still among our creative and talented crew. We all contribute to fulfilling KPTZ’s Mission: To build and strengthen community throughout the Northeast Olympic Peninsula, actively engaging our listeners through high quality community radio programming that is educational, entertaining, and service oriented.
Listening to KPTZ on any given day at any given time is like taking a trip through Port Townsend itself, and the tri-area surroundings. Each show, like each of the unique neighborhoods, has its own personality and focus ~ microcosms of music, news and interviews that all together make up KPTZ Community Radio. And now, as we embark on the move to our new, expanded station as anchor tenant in Fort Worden’s Makers Square, we need your support more than ever.
Radio Connects Us All! We can’t do it without your help. So please, give what you can. Our hearts are full of thanks!
